Inspirirani jazz velikanima poput Billie Holiday, Johna Coltranea, Diane Krall i drugih, učenici su stvarali vlastite prijedloge plakata za ovaj festival, istražujući odnos slike i zvuka kroz različite slikarske i grafičke tehnike.

Naziv „Alternate Take“, preuzet iz jazza, označava varijaciju — novi pogled, novu interpretaciju iste teme. Upravo to su ovi mladi autori i postigli: svjež, osoban i kreativan pogled na vizualni identitet festivala.

As part of the 5th edition of the Dubrovnik Jazz Outbreak Festival, third-year students of the Painting Department at the Luka Sorkočević Art School present an exhibition titled “Alternate Take.”

Inspired by jazz legends such as Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Diane Krall and others, the students created their own poster designs for the Festival, exploring the connection between image and sound through various painting and graphic techniques.

The title “Alternate Take,” borrowed from jazz terminology, represents a variation — a new perspective, a fresh interpretation of the same theme.

That is precisely what these young artists have achieved: a vivid, personal, and creative take on the festival’s visual identity.
